AoB4 Taaahhh- Daaaahhh!!! :)

this is my final childrens book. i have used a simular tecnique to quentin blake the draw my characters, i used watercolour and then pen and ink on top, i think overall the book went quite well but i think i would change some of my story to make it a bit more strong and interesting. i struggled with drawing my pigs over and over and over again and keeping them consitent thoruout.

this is my mock book where i planned out how my book was goint to be layed out. i have moved things about and added and scribbled alot of things. i found this book usefull to get my head aroud how my book was going to work.

i looked at the artist Quentin Blake who was my main inspiration. i like the childlike, sketchy feel that his work has.

these are photos, where i hung the images from my book and tried to capture the shadows and depth, i think they worked well but i dont really like them because i dont think they look very child freindly.

i looked at the artist Rob Ryan. i particularly enjoyed his humorous messages and intricate cutwork, unfortunately i have misplaced the final (the dog ate it!) but this is what i did but on tracing paper.

i have taken my pig disign and tried colouring it in on photoshop, i like the tecniques but i odnt think it quite suited my character.

my brief was to research, plan and create a children's book.  Firstly i looked at the book arrrggghh spider to understand the process of creating a children's book. i also looked at the illustrator, quentin Blake, who gave me inspirations to the process i should use to create my characters. i experimented with shapes for my characters until the came to life.
